Take a look at more of our project work...

All students involved in the recent Boxclever programme at Tommy Coyle’s gym thoroughly enjoyed the experience and feel it has benefited them in terms of how they think and their outlook both in school and at home.

The students worked on developing a positive mental attitude and a tool box of skills that will help them make positive life choices. The impact of the first cohort has been very positive with 89% of pupils making significant improvements in attendance and 78% of pupils significantly reducing the number of strikes they have received.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you and your staff who helped make this successful and look forward to working with you all in the future.

Boxclever
(Schools).

Our inspiring BoxClever programme aims to provide primary and secondary school students the opportunity to build their self-esteem, self-confidence and improve their fitness through a combination of physical activity sessions and emotional intelligence workshops. The Boxclever programme is created by Tommy Coyle based on his life experiences and teaches young people that hard work and dedication can lead to a happier and healthier future.

Students will learn the basics of boxing, fitness and nutrition through our fully qualified coach and professional boxer, Connor. They will be taught how hard work in the gym can apply to their day-to-day life, helping them face challenges and achieve their goals. They will also take part in bespoke emotional intelligence workshops led by Anna from Headstart Intelligence who has a wealth of knowledge and experience in developing children and young people to be emotionally aware, resilient and smart.

Connor and Anna work together to help students set goals and milestones for them to achieve throughout the duration of the programme and beyond. They recognise and reward each student throughout their own individual development.

The Boxclever programme is aimed at hard-to-reach or disengaged children, young people with challenging behaviour or they may be facing additional life issues (i.e. family breakdown, children living in care). We also work with young people who want to be part of a positive programme and make a difference in their life.

When we got told we were coming here I thought it wasn’t going to be as fun, I thought we were just going to go to the gym. But this is REALLY fun!

We know that every school/group has different requirements, therefore each Boxclever programme is bespoke and tailored to the needs and requirements of the school and their students. Our coaches will meet with schools individually to discuss their requirements and tailor the programme accordingly. The programme is open to both primary and secondary schools and can be particularly effective around prepping for transition from Year 6 through to secondary school.

If you are interested in the programme and would like to find out more, please fill an enquiry form.
